ABCD Training workshop continue at SNAL Computer laboratory from 6th to 10th July 2015. It is facilitated by Prof. Egbert de Smert from Universiteit Antwerpen of Belgium. Participants are from following universities libraries: SUA, IRDP - Dodoma, Mzumbe, Nelson Mandela - Arusha, Mweka, Jordan and Muslim University of Morogoro.

Doris S. Matovelo is an Associate Library Professor and the Head of Acquisitions section at the Sokoine National Agricultural Library (SNAL) at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Tanzania. Until June 2014, she was the Director for SNAL, a position she held for two terms (2008-2014). She is a graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam (PhD-Information Studies), Loughborough University, UK (M.A Library and Information studies) and Sokoine University of Agriculture (BSc. Home Economics and Human Nutrition). Her current areas of research interest include Access to information in rural communities for rural development, Participatory and Action research approaches in information management; adoption of information and communications technologies (ICT) in access to and dissemination of information, and in user services. She has more than two decades of experience as a librarian at SUA. She teaches Communication theory and practice to undergraduate students and a number of courses to diploma students. She has co-supervised supervised PhD and supervised Undergraduate and Diploma research projects. She is supervising two projects on establishing open access digital repositories; the Tanzania Climate change repository (TaCCIRe) and SUA’s Institutional Repository. She is a member of the International Association of Agricultural Information Specialists (IAALD) and a member to the Tanzania Library Association.  She has published more than 30 articles in scholarly publications and conference proceedings.
